Shakin' up the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees!

Hello friends! :)
Hope you are all doing well on this middle of the week "hump day"!

Today I have a fun shaker card to share with you:
So do you remember that fabulous Whimsy Stamps new release last week?
I have decided to take some stamp images from the Hedgehugs stamp set and highlight the other super adorable images from within this set that might not get noticed as much next to those adorable hedgehogs! :)

For this design, I've put together a fun shaker card!  I cut out a frame with the newly released Hand Stitched Rectangle dies using some of the sparkly papers from a past card kit!  (The shaker contents are also from a past Whimsy Stamps card kit.)   I used my distress inks to make the clouds and sunshine in the background.

All of the cute images you see including the tree stump that the bird is standing on was stamped, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out.  I used some foam tape on the lady bug and the bee along the side of the yellow frame.  I've also added some sparkle to the bee's wings and covered the center of the yellow flowers with glossy accents.

To cut the line of grass at the bottom, I cut it out using the Whimsy Stamps Pierced Border Trio dies and attached it to the yellow sparkle frame so that it sits flush with it.  The grass blades on that panel were stamped from the Sketched Elephants stamp set and then the greeting in the center was stamped using the newly released Handmade From Me stamp set.

Here's a closer look with the shaker contents:
It's that "Twitter-patted" time of year and I'm really looking forward to seeing Spring coming to life, so this is what has inspired my card for today.

I hope you've enjoyed my shaker card.
Thanks so much for dropping by!

P.S.  If you happen to notice an absence here on my blog or social media, I will not be around for a couple of weeks.  Just catching a short break and I'll be back again soon!! :)

Today I am sharing more inspiration from the adorable "Sketched Elephants" & Coordinating Shapeology crafting dies:
I know that I'm not the only person that absolutely fell in love with this oh so adorable "Sketched Elephants" stamp set with the coordinating dies!!  I knew that I would be using it again and again! :)

This time I had fun with this cutie pie and pairing him with some circus style papers that I had in my stash.  This little guy has decided to break free from the circus for a minute by climbing through this hole because he smells those peanuts from the other side!! LOL!!  While he was climbing through the hole to grab a peanut, a blue balloon escaped from behind him.

I have used the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Circles die set to die cut the hole and then I've also cut a thin layer with black card stock to place behind it.  I have stamped, colored and die cut the peanuts to pile on top of each other at the bottom.  A couple of them were popped up with foam tape.  I stamped, colored and die cut the elephant to place over the circle.  I've also added some hearts and the blue balloon coming through the circle.  I used the new "Hand Stitched Rectangles" to cut out the striped papers and I also cut out an A2 sized black panel with it as well.

Here's a closer look at the design:
Here you can better see the circus scene that's going on behind the elephant.  LOL!
I thought these papers would be so fun to create a scene for this elephant escaping through the hole to get a peanut.  You can also better see the Wink of Stella that I covered the balloon and hearts with.

The striped paper with the elephant has been popped up over the circus scene papers and the black card front with some foam tape for dimension.

We continue today sharing the 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 new Shapeology Crafting Dies to complement the stamp sets designed by the newest artist/illustrator for Whimsy Stamps:  Nina-Marie Trapani!

Today's inspiration is using the new "Hedgehugs" stamp set:
I think this guy is just as sweet as can be sitting up there on his stump!! :)  I also think this stamp set has many different elements with it that you could use without the hedgehogs if you want, but they're too darn cute not to use!

So for my card here, I have went ahead and stamped the hedgehog and then masked him off so that I could stamp the tree stump so it looks like he's sitting on it.  I've also added the mushroom along the side of the tree stump and then I've stamped the bumble bee on a separate piece, fussy cut him out and popped him up over the sky.  All of these images were colored in with my Copic markers.

The hedgehog is not actually holding the heart originally, so I stamped the heart on a separate piece, colored it in and fussy cut it out.  To make it look like the hedgehog is holding the heart, I used a kraft knife to cut around a portion of his hands and slid the heart behind each side of his hands.  I then covered the heart with glossy accents.

I used some red and white polka dotted paper from my stash and then I used the Whimsy Stamps Basic Border Trio dies to make the zig zag edging and then I rounded the corners of the hedgehog panel as well as the card itself with my corner chomper.

Here's a closer look at the design:
Here you can better see how I've colored him in and put the heart in place to make it look like he's holding the heart to give to someone special! :)
After I popped the bee up with foam tape, I covered his wings with Wink of Stella and then used my Copic liner pen to draw the dash lines where he made a fly trail.
I used some chalk for the soft blue clouds and then stamped the sentiment at the top.

Whimsy Stamps New Release Week - Day 3!

Hello friends!
Welcome to day 3 of the Whimsy Stamps (Clearly Whimsy Stamps edition) New Release Week!

We continue today sharing the 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 new Shapeology Crafting Dies to complement the stamp sets designed by the newest artist/illustrator for Whimsy Stamps:  Nina-Marie Trapani!

Today's inspiration is using the new "Handmade From Me" stamp set & "Hand Stitched Rectangles" Shapeology craft dies set:
I am really loving this fun set with the versatile images!  I love the different sizes of hearts to add to your sentiments and also the fun "handmade by" sentiments that you can either add as a focal point for your design or even to add a signature line to the back of your cards...so that the recipient knows that you care enough to make something hand made!  :)

I decided to pull out my watercolor pallet (Kuretake Gansai Tambi) to make a fun "watercolor resist" background.  First I randomly stamped the little hearts from the set with VersaMark ink all over a piece of watercolor paper and then embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I used several different colors of watercolor to make a rainbow style background.  The embossed hearts resist the watercolor.  I kept the watercolor brush strokes light so that you can see the brush strokes in the design, but still be able to see the rainbow effect.  I've also used some black to make a few splatters in the background.

I then used the new "Hand Stitched Rectangles" die set to cut out my watercolor background and mounted it on an A2 sized card base.  For the sentiment, I stamped with black ink and then used one of the dies from this set to cut it out.  Obviously, you'll notice that these are rectangular dies, so what I did was line up my same die and die cut off the portion that I didn't need for my sentiment which made it square looking.  I also took an additional die to cut a strip of black card stock to put behind the sentiment panel.  Before I attached the sentiment to the black panel, I made a nest with some silver thread and popped it up with some foam tape.

Finished my card with a wood veneer heart underneath the sentiment and added a few silver sequins to go along with the silver thread in my design.

Whimsy Stamps New Release Week - Day 2!

Hello friends!
Welcome to day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps (Clearly Whimsy Stamps edition) New Release Week!

We continue today sharing the 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 new Shapeology Crafting Dies to complement the stamp sets designed by the newest artist/illustrator for Whimsy Stamps:  Nina-Marie Trapani!

Today's inspiration is using the new "Hand Lettered Encouragement" stamp set:
I thought this was such a pretty sentiment set!  I also love that it comes with a couple of botanical type images to accompany the wonderful words.
So what I decided to do with mine was to make my own background by clear embossing the randomly stamped images and then blending some green distress inks over them.  The clear embossing resists the ink and leaves the images showing through.  I added some extra water for splattering.  The sentiment was embossed in black over a die cut vellum circle.  At the top of the sentiment, I decided to stamp an extra image and fussy cut it out and popped it up over the gold foil card sock strip.  I've also added some gold thread to tie on a bow over the image.
I've also added a sentiment scroll going across the bottom of the card.

In this photo you can better see the embossing details as well as the gold shimmer that I've sprayed over top of the blended ink background panel.
It looks so very pretty in person and it's hard to capture all of the details in a photo, but I hope you like what I've done with this set!  The sentiments in this set are so lovely!

Whimsy Stamps New Release Week - Day 1

Hello friends!
Whimsy Stamps (Clearly Whimsy Stamps edition) New Release Week is here!
Today and every day this week I will be sharing inspiration with you for each new clear stamp set and Shapeology craft dies that is being released this month which will be available for purchase at the Whimsy Stamps store starting this Friday, March 11th!

So please join me here every day this week including the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Blog for a peek at each set with some inspiration & of course special prize opportunities!
Today is the debut release of Whimsy Stamps newest artist/illustrator Nina-Marie Trapani! Nina-Marie has created 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 new Shapeology crafting dies to complement the stamp sets.  She is a talented person and has come up with some fun ideas for this release!
Here's my inspiration using this adorable "Sketched Elephants & Coordinating Dies" set:

I had so much fun coloring this sweet elephant holding his little daisy flower.  I have used my Copic markers to color him in.  I've also sponged some clouds in the background including over the large stitched heart that comes with the set of coordinating dies that goes with this stamp set.  I just made my own stencil and used it to sponge the clouds.
For the bottom grass portion of the design, I have taken some green card stock and cut out the curvy hill with the Whimsy Stamps Shapeology Piereced Border Trio die set.  I also added some "blades of grass" from the images in the Sketchy Elephant set.
For the large heart, I have it popped up over my card with some craft foam.  I've also taken a part of the grass to add to the bottom of the heart.  I wanted the large heart to blend in with the scene, but popped up over my design.  The tiny red hearts are also from this set which I've colored with Copic markers and then cut them out with the coordinating dies and then added some glossy accents over top of them.  The elephant was also cut out with the coordinating dies and popped up over the scene and the edge of the heart.
I'm sure I'll be using this set many times!  :)

Plant Smiles

Hello friends!  Happy Friday!
I've got a card to share with you today and it certainly has put me in the mood for some Spring weather hopefully coming our way soon!  :)

I have used this adorable set from Newton's Nook called Garden Whimsy.  I also wanted to play along in their current challenge using a color combo before it ends.

I did a bit of ink blending within the die cut circle and added the grass blades and flowers.  I've colored in the cute little bear and fussy cut him out and popped him up over the scene so it looks like he's watering the flowers.  I also have a bit of sparkly glitter where the water comes out from the spout.  It's also hard to see on the blue card stock, but I've sponged some clouds with white ink.  The die cut circle scene was popped up over the blue cloud panel with craft foam.

Also added a bit of red with some scallop border die cut edges and then added some white twine.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

**UPCOMING**
Please be sure to come and visit with me all next week as I will be sharing some inspiration with a brand new release coming out for Whimsy Stamps!!  This release is fabulous and I just know you will love it!  Don't miss the fun because there will be lots of fun surprises along the way!! :)

Hello, Hi and Hey There!

Hello friends!
Hope that you are all having a wonderful week so far!
I have a fun creation to share with you today:
I think this jumbled character sentiment is too cute!  I have kept it fairly simple by setting it on the line and then I colored it in with Copics in an ombre purple tone.  I've also added some pink cheeks with white gel pen highlights to give them some life.  This fun image comes from the Whimsy Stamps Just a Note clear stamp set.  (There are several really cute characters in this set, so be sure to check it out!)

I have also cut a border underneath with the newly released Whimsy Shapeology Pierced Border Trio dies.  I took another piece of black card stock and used this die to cut a border below that which was popped up with some craft foam underneath.  The very thin line you see underneath the "hello" image is a thin piece of reflective sticker strip that I placed right above the pierce marks on the white card stock piece.  When you move the card around, it really shines.

For the bottom corner portion of my design, I have taken the Whimsy Stamps Everyday Mini Sentiments clear stamp set and took three different sentiments from the set and stamped them in a straight pattern to make a fun background to go with my hello image.  I then just finished the design off with some silver sequins in different sizes.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!!  Thanks for popping in!

Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes-Guest Design Post

Hello friends!

I am honored to have been asked to do a guest design spot for
Crafting by Designs

The challenge for today is their monthly "Anything Goes" challenge which is a nice and easy theme to create anything that your heart desires and have fun with it!  :)
So please do stop by and see what the design team has to inspire you with and be sure to add your next creation to the challenge blog and play along with us!!
I would also like to say thank you for inviting me along for a challenge!

So for my project, I have decided to pull out my beloved Lawn Fawn of course! :)
So with Easter coming up, I know that I will need a couple of Easter goodie bags to give out to all of the good lil chillies in my life! :)  (The term "chillies" has been passed down a generation to my own children and will probably have to be the nick names for the grand babies too!! LOL!)

I have FINALLY pulled out this super fun "Goodie Bag" die from Lawn Fawn and made an Easter theme bag with it.  I have used some older papers from my stash, and then looking through my Lawn Fawn stamps....I don't own any Easter related themed stamps, so I found these ADORABLE bunnies from the Snow Day stamp set and used them for my scene here.  The egg is actually a sticker I had from some scrapbooking items in my collection.  I nestled it into the grass border die cut and then added the bunnies that I colored with Copic markers and gave them some "puffy" tails with some liquid applique.  I have also added my own "whiskers" to the bunnies with a Copic multi-liner pen.  The front grass border was popped out with foam tape.

I've also added a die cut cloud and a stitched circle tag with some twine to finish off the scene on the front of my bag.  I have stamped the sentiment on the tag using the LF Happy Everything set.

I hope you've enjoyed my Easter Goodie Bag today!
Thanks so much for stopping by and see you soon!
